The Making Africa Work Inspiration Event was a big success with more than 130 people in attendance. The event took place at Pakhuis De Zwijger in Amsterdam last week. Doors opened at 13:30 o’clock sharp. Within minutes a long que formed in front of the registration desk. After some refreshments Marina Diboma, Head of External Affairs and International Cooperation at the Netherlands-African Business Council(NABC), opened the afternoon. Afterwards Max Koffie of Africa in Motion introduced Making Africa Work, stressing that the Western world should change its perception of Africa as ‘helpless’ continent to Africa as an emerging market full of opportunities. Laure Smeets of BID Network told the attendees all about how to finance their business (click HERE to download her presentation). The main part of the day ended with the ever enthusiastic Jan Jongbloed of PUM Netherlands senior experts who led a creative ‘simulation game’ in which participants had to come up with a business idea and market for their ‘product’ within 15 minutes.
During the day lots of photos were taken. A selection can be viewed here above. To see them all please go to the official Making Africa Work Facebook page.
